Toland Way PARTICIPATES IN SBAC PILOT GRADES 3 - 6

The  Smarter  Balanced  Assessments  are  new,  next-‐generation  assessments  that  will
measure  the  full  understanding  of  the  Common  Core  State  Standards  in  Math  and
English  Language  Arts/literacy.
LAUSD  is  helping  to  lead  the  way  to  transition  to  new  electronic  assessments  by  being
pioneers  and  participating  in  a  practice  test  to  help  make  sure  things  run  smoothly  prior
to  full  implementation  next  year.
With  LAUSD’s  diverse  student  population,  we  are  the  right  district  to  help  lead  the  way
in  this  practice  test  to  ensure  all  students  – regardless  of  their  language  or  learning
needs  –  are  being  measured  in  a  fair  and  balanced  way.
These  Smarter  Balanced  Assessments  offer  multiple  benefits,  including  faster  test
taking,  questions  that  adapt  to  the  student’s  skill  and  knowledge  level,  and  the  ability  to  measure  progress  during  the  school  year.

Attendance- Everyday On Time

The LAUSD Goal is for 76% of students to be in school 96%

( No more than 7 absences for the year)

School starts at 8:16 am. (Make sure your student is in line waiting for the teacher by 8:13) and dismissal at 2:40 p.m.

Attendance = Achievement - send your child to school everyday on time.

Breakfast In the Classroom (BIC)

Nicky: It's good because it's healthy Carly V.: It's good because it serves everything I like. Sirena: I think it's OK because I don't have to wait in line outside Kaleena: It's good and it has a good taste.
